Minneapolis parks belong to all of us.

FOR MINNEAPOLIS PARKS AT LARGE

As your park board commissioner I’ll fight to ensure our parks truly serve everyone in our community.

I've dedicated my career to public service, from overseeing Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board aquatics programs to organizing for environmental justice in East Phillips. I understand city-wide park operations from the ground up and will bring both practical experience and working-class values to the Park Board.

My enduring commitment to our parks comes from seeing their power to advance health and justice for working families. Working in the Park Board Aquatics Department, I went from Lifeguarding to running city-wide drowning prevention programs at all Minneapolis pools, beaches, and waterparks.

I know firsthand how vital our parks are to public health and creating community well-being.

Building a brighter future includes:

Fair wages and strong protections for park workers

Park access by reliable transit connections

Environmental justice and climate action

Youth programs & affordable childcare

Responsible stewardship of our natural resources

Together, we can create a park system that truly serves all Minneapolis residents - not just those with privilege and means, but every family in every neighborhood.

A history of working for all people.

Let's build parks that work for everyone.

Environmental Justice

We need bold climate action, not token measures. I'll fight against environmental racism, challenge greenwashing schemes like carbon offsets, and support community-led environmental justice initiatives.

Community First

From my grandmother's 32 years as a park commissioner in Illinois to my own time at MPRB, I've learned that "the answer is always in community." I'll prioritize genuine engagement and ensure resident voices guide park decisions.

Strong Labor Rights

I led coworkers in organizing the first Lifeguards union at MPRB and will ensure good-faith bargaining with park workers. Our parks can't thrive without fairly compensated, stable staff who can afford to live and build lasting relationships in the communities they serve.
